Backflow of Home-bound Passengers at Pulo Gebang Reaches its Peak This Weekend

Eid backflow has not been seen yet on the D+3 of Eid 1443 Hijri at Pulo Gebang Integrated Bus Terminal. Based on Beritajakarta.id monitoring, there is no significant increase in passengers arriving at the terminal.

We predict a surge in passengers on Saturday and Sunday from 03:00 to 06:00

Based on data collected, as many as 133 buses carrying 777 passengers had arrived at the terminal on Thursday (5/5) at 13:30.

Pulo Gebang Integrated Bus Terminal Management Unit (UP) Head Bernad Oktavianus Pasaribu stated most of the buses arriving at the terminal were interprovincial intercity (AKAP) buses with routes within Java, such as Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta.

Returning Flow at Kalideres Bus Terminal Still Deserted

"So far, there has been no significant increase in passengers returning to Jakarta," he explained.

He estimated that the Eid backflow would increase from Saturday (5/7) to Sunday (5/8). Most passengers from Sumatera, Java, Bali, NTB, and NTT would arrive at the terminal around dawn to morning.

"We predict a surge in passengers on Saturday and Sunday from 03:00 to 06:00. All passengers from Aceh to NTT mostly arrive at that time every day," he conveyed.

Pulo Gebang Integrated Bus Terminal Operational IV Team Commander (Danru) Bonari added his side continued to coordinate with other sectors and agencies for 24 hours before the Eid backflow.

His side also carried out ramp and health checks on bus crews to create a sense of security and comfort.

"Health check is conducted by health team from Cakung Sub-district Health Center. We also provide booster vaccination service for passengers on the second floor of the terminal," he concluded.
